Homework 1979

A Break after Homework

Having transferred into Clemson and losing over a semester of credits, 18 hour course loads were required for the next several semesters. That didn’t leave much time for idle pursuits. My two were skateboarding and photography.

I’d snap a few photos now and then, trying to capture the moment. These are a pair that I snapped after finishing homework one evening, or was it procrastinating before…

Organization

At the time, I thought having a plastic binder for each course would encourage me to be diligent with note taking and keeping up with assignments.

I found that the plastic binders were slippery and carrying one of more of them between classes was frustrating without using a backpack to keep them being dropped.

Upside Down Study Lamp

I’d mounted a ceramic fixture and a low-wattage bulb under the desk shelf and slipped on an upside down shade to diffuse the light.

Hours and hours were spent at that desk.

Pentax KX

I think of all the cameras I’ve had, I liked the feel of this one the best. Although modest in features, it fit my hands well and after only a little use felt like an extension of my senses. I later sold it to Bruce, when I pursued the newer Pentax ME Super.

The current incarnation of the KX is digital. This one was analog.
