It’s a line from the 1974 Blue Oyster Cult song “Astronomy” (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IM0im3V8HlU) from the album “Secret Treaties”.

The stanza goes like this:

It’s the nexus of the crisis
And the origin of storms
Just the place to hopelessly
Encounter time and then came me

I discovered BOC’s live fourth album in 1975, “On Your Feet, or On Your Knees”, and was captivated by the changing melodies, tempos, and often puzzling lyrics.

The next four albums I bought were the three studio albums preceding this live album. Their fifth album “Agents of Fortune” contained the hit “Don’t Fear the Reaper”.

So why did I pick “Origin of Storms” for THIS site?

Every once in a while a phrase will strike me as a “good name for a website”, so I’ll check to see if it’s already registered. If it’s not, I’ll register it. I may build a site behind it or point it to something I’ve already got posted.

I had “originofstorms.com” and thought it sounded in line with the melancholy of telling stories and reminiscing.
