A Set of V4’s 1990

A Set of V4’s 1990

A Story Behind Each

I was fortunate enough to have three bikes in my garage. Keeping up inspections, tags, insurance, and maintenance on three bikes was a bit of a burden. But, I really liked the smooth powerful V4’s and each bike had a unique character.

Baby Bear and Mama Bear Interceptors

My coworker Mike’s girlfriend bought the 500 new up north, and he raced it, very successfully, in the WERA Interceptor class for a couple of years. Another coworker Randy, bought it from Mike and raced it for another year, then let it sit in his driveway for a year. That’s when I bought it, overhauled, titled, and licensed it for the first time.

I saw the 750 in the middle posted for sale in the paper the day before going on a business trip. My wife checked it out and bought in my absence.

Long-Legged Purple Magna

I bought the Magna in 1984 from coworker Tony as he needed money for a computer. That seemed like the craziest thing, back then: selling a bike to buy a computer. The next year Randy and I rode to Bike Week then on to Ft. Lauderdale to see the spectacle that was “Spring Break”. Oddly, there are no photos from that trip.

Although Ft. Lauderdale was the Magna’s longest trip, it’s made several trips to The Beach and innumerable trips to the mountains. I still ride it on occasion.
